1) COLOR, COLOR, COLOR
Minimalist cabinets and fixtures can be warmed up by the use of sophisticated yet warm color schemes. A dash of intense claret walls among all the neutrals, for example, can really soften things up.
2) EMBRACE TEXTURE
Consider wall textures or glazes to add dimension. The right technique can add depth to even the most classic taupe wall. The fabrics you include are also key. A dramatic drapery, for example, can be used to soften the hard edges of an alcove just enough to keep the room from feeling too sterile.
3) ACCESSORIZE TO PERSONALIZE
Okay, so you don’t want cluttered Victoriana. That doesn’t mean you couldn’t incorporate a stunning black-and-white portrait of your family, a painting that truly has meaning for you, or a few carefully selected objets-d’art to make your bath feel more inviting. Use an editing eye and choose wisely.
