Just bought the montrose 1, which will be installed in an alcove, with a tile surround&front (no factory skirt). There is no nailing or tiling flange, and i can't find any info about it on your site, besides that it's optional. What do i need here? Alby

Asked by: Alby Baker
Thank you for your question, Alby. The Montrose I needs to be ordered with a tiling flange in order to install it in an alcove application. If the unit is not ordered with the tile flange option, it is formed as a standard drop in island tub. When you order the unit with tiling flange option, it is an integral molded flange that is formed on the unit. Let us know if you have any other question.

The framing instructions call for a 12 X 18 pump excess opening, but farther down in the instructions it states that a matched skirt can be used for pump excess. Does this in a nutshell infer that its one or the other?  Thank you.

Asked by: John
Thank you for your question, John. You are correct. Access must be provided to the pump or other equipment should service be needed at a later date. You can either build one into your surround, or install the unit with the optional skirt, which has a removable access panel built in. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Does the 4160620 soaker model need support at the adjacent walls such as a two x four under the tile flange?

Asked by: Paul
Thank you for your question, Paul. The Montrose I comes standard as an island drop-in unit. If installed as such, the unit should be supported at the base--not by the rim of the tub--with a bed of casting plaster or plaster of paris. If installing in an alcove with the integral tiling flange option, use 1” x 3” leger strips along with the foundation materials, as illustrated in the framing diagrams on page 8 of the installation instructions. For additional information on the installation of your unit please refer to pages 8-10 of the product’s installation and owner’s manual. I’ve included the link below for your reference. http://aquaticbath.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/BC_OM-IG_2014-final31.pdf
