Show Your Shower a Little Love

Most of us spend a lot of time in the shower. It’s a place where we can quickly wash up, get energized, gather our thoughts and even sing like a rock star. Given how the shower occupies such an important spot in our daily lives, it only makes sense that we make some effort to keep it fresh and clean. Here are a few simple steps you can follow:

Regularly clean surfaces

When cleaning or polishing your shower, make sure to carefully read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. For Aquatic shower products, we recommend washing off surfaces with warm water and liquid detergents or nonabrasive cleansers.

Get out the car wax

Keep bath fixtures sparkling clean by applying a good coat of quality automotive paste wax or polish, and then buff to a high shine with a cloth towel. Repeat this process every six months for easier maintenance and long-lasting protection. You can also use the automotive wax to restore surface scratches and wipe away residue buildup.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT wax the standing surface at the base of your shower or tub. This could result in slipping or injury.

Repair leaky showerhead and faucets

This will not only help you save money on your water bills, but you can also prevent unsightly stains and rust from building up near the drain.

Keep your caulk fresh and white

If you notice caulk discoloring, take steps to remove it. You can use a store-bought bathroom cleaner or bleach treatment to take care of the problem. For a greener solution, use undiluted white vinegar. Simply apply the vinegar to the caulk using a spray bottle, let it set for a couple of hours, and then scrub it off with a brush. Periodically, you may need to start fresh with a new mildew-resistant sealant.

Take care of towels

Clean towels and wash cloths at least once a week. Avoid hanging wet towels on hooks and backs of doors to keep the air smelling fresh. Consider new towels and a nonskid bath mat to give the room an air of modernity.

Pull the curtain

If you have a tub-shower combination, be sure to close the curtain and liner after taking a shower to keep moisture from accumulating within the folds. Whenever you see any mildew forming, wipe it away. One easy way to give your shower an updated look is to pick out decorative curtain rings or hooks.

Open a new door

A new door can bring added style and function to your bath space. For a modern statement, Aquatic offers frameless shower doors with minimal exposed metal. Framed doors are fitted with aluminum-polished, anodized metal for a substantial feel. Both options are available in designs that either glide or swing open.
